Staying in shape for life and Typical hemorrhoids treatments

You should definitely give yourself a pat on the back when you reach your weight loss goal. You have kept your New Year’s resolution. It is no mean feat and the journey is littered with the broken dreams of the millions who have tried and failed. You are a winner and you have persevered when most have failed… and you’ve finally reached your goal.

There is one last step though. This step trips up over 90 percent of those who were successful in their weight loss journey. You need to keep the weight off and make sure it doesn’t return. The majority of people who lose weight gain it all back within a year.

Why does this happen? What did they do?

It’s not what they did. It’s what they did not do. They did not watch their diet and exercise anymore. It’s very common to see people kick back and rest on their laurels once they have achieved their goal. They develop a sense of complacency that they have lost the excess fat and it’s gone forever.

Sorry to disappoint you but your excess fat is waiting to come back and say hi. The moment you slack off on your diet and lead a sedentary life, you will start piling on the pounds. They will return slowly but surely. You must bear in mind that you became fat because of this unhealthy lifestyle. Going back to it will mean undoing all your effort and progress.

The key to avoiding this problem will be to develop the habit of eating right and exercising regularly. Now that you are at your desired weight, all you will need to do is consume calories at maintenance level. You can find out your number here: http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_calculator.htm

There will be no need to be at a caloric deficit anymore. You do not need to be overly strict with your diet. It will be fine to give in to the occasional indulgence and eat something you like as long as your calories are within the recommended range.

As for your exercise, if you’re happy with your body’s shape and muscle tone, you can just carry on doing what you’re doing. If you wish to get more muscular and lean, you can challenge yourself more. If not, you can just carry on with the exercise that you were doing to get you to where you currently are.

What is important is that you do not stop exercising. Studies have shown that going 3 weeks without exercise takes your body back to the point that’s similar to it not having done exercise for months or years. Then you’ll need to start over. The strength and stamina will return quickly though… but why go through the struggle? It’s easier to just be consistent.

Habit is what will keep the weight off. Always be vigilant to spot any bad habits that may sneakily try to creep in. Like Zig Ziglar said, “All bad habits start slowly and gradually and before you know you have the habit, the habit has you.” Wise words.

Once you reach your weight loss goal, make a promise to yourself that you will never let your weight spin out of your control again. Never allow your body to gain more than 4 pounds before you take action. Sometimes despite our best intentions, we let things slide and our weight may go up.

Always take immediate action and ramp up your exercise and diet the moment you gain 4 pounds. This is still a manageable situation and within a week or two, you can remedy the situation. If you let it slide too long, you will have a much tougher time reeling your weight back in. A stitch in time saves nine. You really do not want to be making a weight loss resolution the following year.

Typical hemorrhoids treatments and without any side effects

  1. Sitz bath is probably one of the most popular and effective home remedies for treating hemorrhoids and anal fissures. It’s a simple process of sitting in warm/hot water for a short period of time, which increases blood flow to the rectal area and promotes healing. Sitz baths are also great for relieving constipation…
  2. Cold Therapy (Ice Pack) A complete opposite method to the above, is using ice for treating hemorrhoids. The ice helps to relieve pain, reduce swelling and itching of the affected area. The reason this works, is because when you apply ice on the hemorrhoid, it numbs the area and almost instantly relieves inflammation. This method is often used straight after sitz bath, because while the hot water dilates anal veins, the ice contracts them. This helps to strengthen the veins and most importantly, get rid of hemorrhoids…
  1. Calendula Compress this is arguably one of the best hemorrhoid compresses that you can make yourself at home, which will eliminate the pain, itching and burning in a matter of 2-3 days…
  2. Cranberry Compress Another great hemorrhoid compress is made using cranberries. Simply wrap 4 tablespoons of blended cranberries in cheesecloth and apply it to the anus area. You have to keep the compress on for approximately an hour, so it would be a good idea to just sit on it, while you’re doing something else, like watching TV or using your PC/laptop. This treatment can leave stains on clothes, so wear something old/unnecessary when applying this method…
  3. Alum Remedy When you hear about alum, it is normally referred to potassium aluminum sulphate, also known as potassium alum. It’s an easily available crystal, which has highly astringent effect on skin tissues. Alum is a chemical substance, which quickly dissolves in water and has a slightly sweet taste to it…
  4. Garlic & Onion Treatment The garlic and onion suppository is a well-known method for treating hemorrhoids, which has been in use for many centuries. It reduces inflammation, fights bacteria and cures swollen anus veins…
  5. Apple Cider Vinegar Apple cider vinegar is excellent for reducing swelling and irritation/itching of both internal and external hemorrhoids. It’s recommended to buy unfiltered and unpasteurized vinegar, as it has better healing properties and is more effective…
  6. Echinacea (Coneflower) is an amazing and beautiful plant, which also has tons of medicinal properties. It is antiviral, anti-oxidant, antibacterial, immune-promoting and anti-inflammatory. In 1800’s Echinacea was used to even treat snake and poisonous bites from insects. The root of Echinacea contains caffeic acid glycoside, which is a substance that aids wound healing and is a blood purifier…
