Curtis Cripe talks about the common signs of brain activity related issues in babies

Dr. Curtis Cripe is a neuroengineer with a background that includes child neurodevelopment, among other disciplines. Being the head of the Research and Development department of the NTL group, Dr. Cripe explores certain neurological disorders in babies.

He says that neuron, human brain, and brain activity or neurological problems in babies can take place due to a variety of reasons. In certain cases, these problems are present at birth, or they may occur before birth. In certain cases difficulties or prematurity during delivery can result in brain injuries which may cause neurological problems. These problems may have an impact on the physiology, cells, structures and memories of the babies. Some of the common forms neurological problems in babies are mentioned below:

  • Asphyxia takes place in case the infant is deprived of oxygen during, before, or after birth.
  • Hemorrhages can take place in several parts of the brain, and may range in rigorousness based on the size of the area impacted by bleeding.
  • Seizures are regarded as one of the most common neurological problems in babies which can range in rigorousness based on the exact cause.
  • Malformations of several parts of the brain, for instance the Galen vein, can result in serious neurological problems.

As the brain of the infant is so delicate and soft, neurological problems can cause lasting damage. Even though small injuries often can be cured with comparatively simple lasting effects, while severe injuries can cause specialized care all through the life. Some of the common lasting effects of brain activity problems in babies include:

  • One or more forms of epilepsy necessitating medication
  • Developmental delays which may necessitate occupational, speech, and behavioral therapies
  • Lasting difficulties with flexibility and physical mobility
  • Lasting issues related to memories, and internal cells, structures of the brain

Being a neuroengineer focused on behavioral medicine, Dr. Curtis Cripe established the Crossroads Institute which uses telemedicine brain training delivery systems to help children with learning and developmental disorders and provide programs for adults with a wide range of psychosomatic problems which may include traumatic brain injury and addiction. As of now, he heads Research and Development for NTL Group as the developer of the NeuroCoach and NeuroCodex for brain and cognitive repair.

In addition, Dr. Cripe is the author of 2 peer-reviewed papers, 2 chapters, and a lifetime member of a non-profit organization, the Golden Key International Honor Society. Apart from this, he has been designated as INPP instructor for brain development, Certified Peak Performance Instructor and Certified Neurotherapy Instructor.
